Lakes Regional Healthcare, an Avera Partner, is located in Spirit Lake, Iowa and provides the area’s healthcare needs through their 49-bed full-service hospital. With a mission of “improving the health and well-being of people in the Iowa Great Lakes region, we bring personalized and compassionate healthcare to our patients, enhanced with the most advanced and sophisticated medical technologies today. We take our work seriously and are proud to be the only hospital in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota to receive 5 stars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Hospital Compare program. This recognition speaks to the quality of our physicians, staff, and support of our Board in demanding transparency and a commitment to quality.
We are also proud to be the region’s only hospital to provide comprehensive robotic-assisted surgeries with both our Mako orthopedic robot and our daVinci robot. We are also proud to provide the area’s highest quality mammography images with our 3D mammography unit.

IN THE HEART OF THE IOWA GREAT LAKES
Lakes Regional Healthcare is located in the heart of the gorgeous Iowa Great Lakes, also commonly known as Okoboji. Several glacier-carved lakes have made the area a popular tourist destination throughout Iowa, South Dakota, southwest Minnesota and Nebraska.
Not many communities compare to the quality of life and amenities located here. Throughout the summer, water sports abound, from boating, fishing, swimming, sailing and parasailing to kayaking, wakeboarding, stand-up paddleboarding and diving. Popular land-based activities include biking, jogging, rollerblading and walking on more than 30 miles of hard-surfaced trails; camping; or enjoying a lakefront amusement park, outdoor and indoor live music, eight golf courses, go-cart race track, art galleries, live theater, museums, nature center, several restaurants and nightclubs and more. The winter season remains active with snowmobiling, ice skating, cross country skiing, and the annual University of Okoboji Winter Games festivities.
Out-of-town excursions are located within an easy drive: Spirit Lake is 1.5 hours from Sioux Falls, SD; 2.5 hours from Minneapolis, MN; and 3.5 hours from Des Moines, IA.

Full Insurance Lineup
We offer exceptional health, dental and vision insurance plans to full-time staff. There are two health plans available, to include a high deductible plan, and four levels of enrollment are available.
Flexible Spending Account
Benefit eligible staff can utilize a pre-tax benefit account, funded through payroll deductions, for eligible medical, dental, and vision care expenses not covered by insurance or dependent care services including child or elder daycare.
All staff immediately accrue generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave (SL) hours as they work. In fact, as a full-time staff working 40 hours each week, you earn 29 days of PTO and SL hours in one year – and the rate of benefit hours increases as your tenure increases!
