Lakes Regional Healthcare was recently named one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the country by the National Rural Health Association based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health using the Hospital Strength Index®. This is the third time Lakes Regional Healthcare has received this honor.

The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals were based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, costs, charge, and finance.

“We’re proud of the efforts of our healthcare team who have contributed to our hospital achieving this designation,” said Lakes Regional Healthcare President and CEO Jason Harrington. “Our recognition as a top health care provider means our community can count on us to deliver the highest quality healthcare services they need now and in the future.”

Lakes Regional Healthcare has also been named a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital in the United States for six years in a row by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. They have also been recognized as a 5-star hospital by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and are the only hospital in northwest Iowa to have this recognition.
